Ungma receives mortal remains of Imtikumzuk Longkumer

Mokokchung, Sept. 24 (EMN):
It was a sombre occasion for Ungma village in Mokokchung district, on the evening of September 24 as grieving citizens queued to receive the mortal remains of Imtikumzuk Longkumer, advisor for Sericulture & Excise, who passed away recently.

His mortal remains reached Ungma at 5:00 pm accompanied by ministers, advisors; and party workers and well-wishers. Leaders of students’ organisations, village councils, and various other communities paid their last homage to the departed leader at various locations before reaching his native village.

Longkumer breathed his last on Saturday evening, Sept. 22, at Apollo Hospital in New Delhi. He is survived by his wife Imkongzenla, four daughters and a son.

A state funeral for him is scheduled to be held at Ungma Aonglenden on September 25 at 10:00 am. It is learned that the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker Vikho-o Yhosu; and ministers Temjen Imna Along, Tongpang Ozukum, Mestubo Jamir, G Kaito Aye; and Advisor Imnatiba will be attending the funeral service.
