Dimapur, Jan. 5 (EMN): The Wokha battalion of the Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) have informed about the confiscation of illegal liquor in Wokha recently.
Updates on Fri. stated that the security force established a mobile check post at the Foot Hill road junction based on specific information.
According to the troops, liquor worth INR 7.5 lac were seized from one Tata 407 pickup vehicle bearing registration No NL 05 G 0546.
During the enforcement, the security personnel arrested two persons.
The accused were identified as a Yons Lotha alias Pochoru (38), the driver, and from Sangla village under Wokha district; and one TB Gurung (48), the co-driver, a resident of Wokha town, the updates informed.
The accused along with confiscated liquor were handed over to Bhandari Police Station for further investigation.
