Tug of war marks Phekmi farmers’ day

The first two winners of tug of war competition with others during Phekmi farmers’ day on November 15.

Kohima, Nov. 20 (EMN): The 23rd Phekmi farmers’ day celebration- cum- tug of war competition coinciding with Khilünyie festival took place on November 15 last at Phek village under the aegis of Phek Farmers Club (PFC).
Chivozo Soho, chairman of Phek village councilm had graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Khütseiyi Vero, retired PA to Phek DC, was the guest of honour.
In tug of war competition, Razuba Khel bagged first position, while Bible Hill, Kotisu village and Upper Ketouzou khel were declared winners in the second, third and fourth place respectively. Hukhonieyi Soho, PET of GHS Phek village, was the chief judge of tug of war competition.
Earlier, the inaugural function was chaired by Chinetso Hoshi, vice president, PFC, while the welcome address was delivered by Thüputhiyi Venuh, chief coordinator PFC. Acknowledgement was led by PFC president Chekhünieyi Vero.
Phek village head GB, Dusanü Venuh, also exhorted the gathering and PFC games and sports secretary, Küveliito Keyho, administered oath to the participating teams of tug of war competition.
