Tuensang gets ‘garbage collection vehicles’

Dimapur, April 13 (EMN): Garbage collection vehicles have been released for Tuensang on April 11. A programme marking the event was conducted at the town hall in Tuensang town. T Khongo, brand ambassador of the Swatchh Bharat Mission for Tuensang district was the chief guest of the event.

Speaking during the occasion, he appreciated the ADC and administrator of the Tuensang Town Council, Nchumbemo Odyuo for taking initiative in buying “garbage collection vehicles.”

Further, the speaker said that Tuensang town should be kept clean to set an example to the villages. Dumping waste in residential areas can bring many communicable diseases, he said, adding that the Clean India mission was an important scheme of the central government.

‘Due to our negligence in waste management there is a change in our environment also. Let us not be selfish for our next generation and we should change our way of life and mindset to kept clean and clear environment he exhorted.
