Dimapur, Dec. 1 (EMN): Tribal Union Chümoukedima Town (TUCT) has reiterated to implement the ten point resolutions which was adopted during the mass public rally on October 5 against the menace of Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants (IBIs) and also not to entertain any kind of demands and taxation at any cost during the festive season.
The resolution to this effect was taken during its executive meeting held on November 19 at Chakhroma Public Organisation hall. The meeting was attended by chairman of Chümoukedima village council along with his colleagues, the 11 Ward GBs headed by Head GB of Chümoukedima town, tribal unit presidents and general secretaries.
On the issue of IBIs, the house resolved to endorse a copy of the said resolution to all the concerned members and authority for strict implementation and adherence.
The house also resolved not to entertain any kind of demands and taxation at any cost during the festive season in the name of national workers basing on its unanimously decision on “One Government One Tax.” TUCT has warned of action as deemed fit and proper against any elements trying to disturb the peaceful atmosphere within its jurisdiction.
In regards to the forthcoming State general election, the house unanimously resolved to restrain its citizen of the aged old habit of asking and accepting cash from the candidates during election and accordingly implement clean election called by NBCC.
The house also resolved to strictly enforce the ban on sale of liquor/alcohol and drug peddlers within its jurisdiction. It cautioned that defaulters would be strongly dealt with without any leniency. It urged upon the tribal units to warn their respective members to immediately stop such illegal activities. It also resolved to conduct surprise checking.
Meanwhile, the house has expressed profound gratitude to the administrator of Chumukedima Town Council (CTC) and EAC Thejavizo Nakhro for sparing funds and supervising in the construction of drainages in the market area.
A press release jointly issued by TUCT general secretary Bendangwati Sangtam and the president Lhousito Khro stated that the social services and the concern shown by him would always be remembered and cherished for a long time to come.
