Dimapur, Jan. 14 (EMN): Member of the Lok Sabha Neiphiu Rio has said that peace in a person’s life can be found in living the life of a true believer of God, and a living based on Christian values.

‘We will find peace when we live a true believer’s life based on Christian values and ethics which can be studied from the Holy Bible,’ a press release from the MP’s office on Sun. quoted him as having told the gathering during the event.

During a brief exhortation at the 3rd convention of the Nagamese Christian Revival Churches Sub-Council on Sun., Jan. 14 at Dimapur, the member of the Parliament said that the Christian population worldwide was about 33% while in India it was about 2.5% of the country’s population.

However, Rio said that the Bible was the only book that could transcend all boundaries. Citing statistical data from the Wycliffe Global Alliance, the former chief minister of Nagaland said that the complete Bible has been translated into 670 languages while the New Testament has been translated into as many as 1521 languages, data as of Oct. 1 2017.

Asserting that translating the Bible’s New Testament into Nagamese was by no means an easy task, Rio congratulated the Nagamese CRC for tirelessly working toward said goal so that the word of God would reach farther out to all the Naga people particularly those in far-flung areas and also to Myanmar areas.

Giving thanks to the Almighty God for the achievement, Neiphiu Rio reaffirmed that much needs to be done to spread God’s word, irrespective of denomination ‘since we all worship the same one and only living God.’ He expressed hope that all the churches and denominations would help one another in this regard.

During the event church leaders of the Nagamese CRC prayed over the new Nagamese Bible (New Testament) after which the same was released by Rev. Dr. Neivotso Neikha, mission director of Northeast CRC. A copy was also presented to the MP as a token of appreciation for his support to the endeavour.

The main message was delivered by Rev. Dr. Neikeduozo Paphino, president of the NCRC who deliberated on the meaning of ‘true meaning of studying God’s word.’
