Trebuchet beat Jaggernut by 29 runs

Mokokchung, March 20: Trebuchet registered their first win against Jaggernut by 29 runs in the opening match of the 2nd Master Shield T20 Cricket Tournament organised by Mokokchung District T20 Cricket Federation (MDt20CF) at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Monday.

Electing to bat first, Trebuchet scored 115 runs with the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Top runs scorer for Trebuchet were Imliakum scoring 26 runs, Sunep 20 runs and Taikum 18 runs. Wapong picked 3 wickets while Wati and Lima picked 2 wickets each in the first inning.
Chasing the target, Jaggernut could manage to score only 87 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs with Wapong and Wati scoring 28 and 17 runs for their team. Tight fielding and power pack delivery from the bowlers make a hard choice for Jaggernut to chase down the required target. Merenkaba picked 2 wickets while Anoksangba picked 3 wickets for Trebuchet and also bagged the Man of the Match title.
Earlier Senior SP of Mokokchung Aotemsu (NPS) graced the inaugural programme.
