Training and workshop on Karbi traditional music instruments held

Diphu, Sep.12 (EMN): In order to preserve the Karbi Traditional folk Music, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Cultural Affairs Department and Rangsina Cultural Society has jointly organised a training cum workshop on Karbi Traditional Music Instruments held at Rangsina Sarpo Cultural Hall,Lorulangso Diphu, here on today.
During the inauguration program, Rupsing Teron, Executive Member, incharge Art & cultural Affairs, KAAC attended as the Chief guest said that Karbi has very rich in culture so one has to stick with its own culture
President, Karbi culture Society (KCS) Chandra Sing Kro too attended as the guest said that due to percolating of the foreign culture, traditional culture seem gradually losing its own identity he urge the .He also urge the trainees in the program to preserve the culture.
Kro also brief about the origin of karbi traditional drum chenk Burup ( it kind of small drum which is put up in the waist and beat the drum) and Kumdengdong Karbi traditional guitar (types of guitar its consist two string which can produce different type of tunes , there were 49 trainees.
