Wokha, Nov. 8 (EMN): Governor PB Archarya on Thursday said tourism could be one of the best attractions to bring economic development to Nagaland while inaugurating the Amur Falcon conservation week at polytechnic institute in Ashaa village, Wokha.

Archarya said tourism could bring economic development and stability to Pangti area and Nagaland as a whole; but people and concerned authorities should provide some ‘minimum basic facilities like toilets to the visitors.’ He also added the central government was ready to give aid towards tourism in the state.

Lauding the Tourism department and district administration, he mentioned that during his earlier visit to Pangti village he could not reach the roosting site due to bad road conditions. But with the ‘tireless efforts and work of the two agencies,’ he said, tourists can now reach the roosting site.

The governor also expressed appreciation to the village and church leaders ‘for awakening and motivating’ the people towards protecting and preserving the migratory birds. He added that it was not only wonderful to preserve and take care of the birds but also to champion the cause of preserving all animals.
