Dimapur, Jan 13: The 56th Tizu area sports meet got underway at Khuza with MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu as the chief guest.
Speaking at the inaugural function on Thursday, Azo lauded the CPO resolution to do away with Chief Guest culture and also not to use flora & fauna as gifts to chief guests , and thanked the CPO for initiating the change.
He reminded that it does not take great men to do great things and bring changes but it only takes dedicated people to do great things in order to bring about changes in the society .
He lauded the CPO office bearers for their dedicated efforts in trying to help shape the society for the better. He also assured the general public that they benefit immensely with this resolution by roping in scholars, educationist, resource persons, and professionals for functions. He also stated that hard work always pays and hard work is applicable in all aspects of life be it ,studies, business, development and even in sports. At the end of the day hard work produces positive results so in order to become a good sportsperson one must be dedicated and work hard to reach the top.
He also stated that in a running race all will run together but at the end of the line there will be only one winner which means that the best among them will win the trophy and to get to trophy is not an easy task.
One has to equip himself with qualities such as, dedication, sincerity, discipline, training and consistency than only one may be on the road to success.
Azo also stated that the political and social landscape of Nagaland is in its most troubled state, but with our active participation in sports we win over one another and create a better world to live in and also at the same time promote friendship and brotherhood.
The meet will go on till January 18 with Nyusietho, Addl.Secretary , Govt. of Nagaland , as the Guest of Honour.
