Titans Cricket Club, the champions of Mokokchung

Dimapur, Jan.20: Titans CC lifted their fourth consecutive title by defeating Sovran CC by 28 runs in the finals of the MDCA Inter-Club T20 Tournament played at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Friday. After being set a target of 135 runs Sovran CC could muster only 106 runs losing all their wickets in 19.1 overs.
The most magical of all in Titan’s innings of 134 runs was the innings of Longsasunep. As feisty as the Sovrans were in the field, they also cost themselves the match when they failed to run out Longsasunep in the first ball of the 19th over. Longsasunep finished not out on 25, and more importantly survived to marshal the last 6 balls of the innings.

Imliwapang was the only bowler among the six bowlers the Sovran used on the day to give some hard times to the Titans batsmen. Thejasol and Tiaakum picked 1 wicket each. Akumdong 38 runs was the top scorer for Titans and Surendra Singh scored 29. Despite their shaky batting, the Titans had brought their A game. Chasing the target Sovran CC lost their opener in the first over. Yongsamong (18 runs) and Thejasol (39 runs) build a good partnership to keep Sovran CC in the hunt. But with the introduction of Longsasunep to bowl, chocked the Sovran batsmen by taking 5 wickets that included a Hat-trick, the second of the tournament. He finished with 5/11 in 3 overs. Bikash Singh and Toshimeren took 2 wickets each.
Longsasunep was declared the Man of the Match.
