Dimapur, Jan.16: Titans CC and Sovran CC will finally lock horns at the grand finale of the 25th MDCA Inter Club Cricket Tournament played at Imkongmeren Sports Complex . Playing the first semi-final match of the today, defending champions Titans CC defeated team Bendangsunep by 8 wickets. Winning the toss, team Bendangsunep elected to bat first and was restricted to only 99 runs losing all their wickets in 19.4 overs. Sonu scored 34 runs and Moakumzuk contributed with 14 runs. Longsasunep claimed 4 wickets while Merenti and Bir Bahadur took 2 wickets each for Titans
Chasing the target, Titans CC achieved it in 16.5 overs with Rohit Sharma scoring 40 runs and Akumdong remained unbeaten at 23 runs. Dharani claimed 2 wickets for team Bendangsunep.In the second semi finals, Sovran defeated Skylark CC by 24 runs. Electing to bat first, Sovran set a respectable target of 137 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Imliwati contributed 37 runs while Imliwapang and Wapongtoshi made 27 and 21 runs respectively. Aosashi took 2 wickets for Skylark CC.
Chasing the target Skylark managed to reach only 113 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs with Nirpen contributing 40 runs and Aosashi making a useful 25 runs. Sovran bowlers Michael and Tiaakum claimed 2 wickets each.
The final will be played on January 15 from 10 a.m onwards which is expected to be a cracker of a match with both team matching strength to strength in all departments.
