Time to prove NPF represents voice of Naga people — Apok Jamir

Dimapur, May 16 (EMN): The NPF party candidate for the ensuing by-election, C Apok Jamir said it is time to prove that the Naga People’s Front (NPF) represents the voice of Naga people by ensuring victory of the party through collective effort with conviction and determination.
He was addressing a consultative meeting with NPF party workers of Dimapur district on May 15 at its office in Dimapur.
He is stated to have assured to live up to the expectations of the people.
A press release received from the NPF Minority Wing Central informed about the meeting on Wednesday.
Also, speaking at the meeting, MLA, Moatoshi Longkumer encouraged party workers of the division that the forthcoming by-poll will be a stepping towards the success of the NPF to bring about a change of equality and transparency in the state that the party had envisioned. He also highlighted the district wise party position prior to by-election.
Former NPF candidate, Dr. Kevinguile Khro and vice president of central NPF, Pusazo Luruo, who is also the in-charge of Dimapur division delivered short speeches.
The meeting resolved that the party workers in Dimapur division would vigorously work together for victory of the NPF, the press release stated.
The meeting also welcomed the new team of office bearers of NPF 4th Ghaspani-I assembly constituency stating that ‘it was a big boost for the party.’
With the unanimous decision to merge with the NPF party and to support the candidature Apok Jamir by the supporters of former Independent candidate of 4th Ghaspani-I AC, the NPF Dimapur has reconstituted the NPF party committee for Ghaspani-I with immediate effect. The team will be led by Arsapa Chophi as president and Zuben Lotha as general secretary.
Also, the NPF Minority wing held a special coordination meeting within its members from central and division on May 15 at its office in DImapur.
Minority wing welcomed and extended its support to the candidature of Apok Jamir for the Lok Sabha by-election.
During the meeting, it was stated that the house resolved to work in unity for the upcoming by-election with ‘best of its capacity, standing firm under the leadership of Dr. Shurhozelie, Central president and T R Zeliang, party leader of the NPF.’
The president of central Minority wing, Bhattacharjee has requested all the party worker and well-wishers to work together for the party which is ‘the oldest regional party of Northeast and be part of good governance in the state.’
With the request of the house, a temporary working committee of the NPF Minority wing for five assembly constituencies under Dimapur district was instituted, with Sanjay Dey as the convenor for coordination during the Lok Sabha by-election.
