Itanagar, March 22 (PTI): An organisation of Tibet support groups in India has urged the Centre to pursue the Chinese leadership to resume dialogue with spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, for arriving at a solution to the Tibet issue.
“The IT age has turned the world into a global village to facilitate any community to grow,” said R K Khrimey, national convener of the Core Group for Tibetan Cause (CGTC).
Unity and amity between India and China could change the face of the world, he said.
The CGTC, in association with the people of Tawang and West Kameng districts of Arunachal Pradesh, had begun a 11-day ‘padayatra’ (foot march) from the state to Assam on March 17, to commemorate the Dalai Lama’s 60 years of journey from Tibet to India.
“The padayatra is aimed at sending a message that communal harmony is the only panacea to facilitate peace to rule in today’s strife-torn world,” Khrimey added.
The foot march would conclude on March 27.
