Dimapur, Oct 22 (EMN): Troops of 5 Assam Rifles, during an operation in Zungti village under Zunheboto district, arrested two persons with 61 cases of illegal liquor on October 18.
The consignment was confiscated from one Maruti Gypsy bearing registration number NL 07H 6065. The accused have been identified as Yepaka (29), son of Kuhoi of Itovi village, and Hinoto (27), son of Yakhuz of Khetoi village.
AR release stated that the accused with the recovered liquor were subsequently handed over to Zunheboto Police Station for further investigation.
In a related incident, the same troops intercepted one Mahindra Scorpio bearing registration number UP 16 J5522 along with 384 cases of MC Dowell’s rum and 72 bottles of Kingfisher beer from Natha Zhimomi area in Zunheboto o n October 20.
The occupant of the vehicle identified as Vitoka Yeptho (22), son of Intoto Yeptho of Viyikhe village was arrested in this connection.
It stated that the individual alongwith the recovered liquor were handed over to Zunheboto Police Station for further investigation.
