In a statement issued on Thursday, the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) informed that Mon and Tuensang district will also receive thunderstorm with gusty wind (speed 40-50 kmph) on April 21.

“The maximum temperature will see a dip during this time, settling even below 20˚C over the hilly areas. All the DDMAs and other line departments who are responsible to attend to any emergencies caused by natural calamities are requested to be on alert to save lives and properties during this period,” it stated.

The NSDMA has also urged citizens to be vigilant during this pre-monsoon period. “Public are requested not to shelter under large trees and near the river banks to prevent unnecessary risk to life from lightning and flash flood,” read the advisory.
