Dimapur, April 8 (EMN): Advisor of DUDA, LM&CP and NIDC, N Thongwang Konyak has initiated maintenance of road from Mon town to Totok Chingnyu on April 7, which is about 25 km.
He lamented that the National Highway -702 (Changtongya-Longleng-Mon-Tizit) road which was approved on March 4, 2014, and the only road connecting the district to the neighbouring districts of Mokokchung, Tuensang and Longleng has become pathetic after the Border Road Organisation (BRO) left.
He also mentioned that a tender has been put up by the State government for construction of the said road from Tizit to Mon (30 Km).
He said the maintenance of road from Mon town to Totok Chingnyu was initiated by the representative of the constituency as such all the expenditures incurred will be borne by him. He informed that machineries have been providing free of cost.
NPF party workers, Mon town public leaders and the villagers of Chi, Goching and Totok Chingnyu are volunteering for the maintenance of the road.
