KOHIMA, AUGUST 3: It was a double celebration for Theta Tutorials on Wednesday when it celebrated its 10 years of success, besides, felicitating successful NSEE II candidates and those of other courses, during a simple program that was held at the institution’s campus at Lower PR Hill in Kohima town. Attending the program as the special guest, Dr M Devrani, associate professor of Kohima Science College, addressed the event. He congratulated the successful candidates and said nothing would stop a person from achieving his goals provided that he was a sincere and dedicated person. However, the associate professor reminded the students that they had only cleared the ‘easiest hurdle’ yet and the beginning of facing tougher challenges ahead. More challenges await them, he said. Saying that a person’s sincerity always pays off, the speaker told the candidates to always remain focused and to continue maintaining a level of sincerity, dedication and to work hard at every step of their life. Also, Dr Devrani said that the faculty at Theta Tutorials ‘always strives to provide a complete package for study for its students by seriously committing to their job.’ The success of the students would be from teamwork from students, their parents and teachers, as well as ‘the prevailing working environment and functioning’ of the institution. The students were asked to continue to strive hard in the profession that they have chosen, and be a service to the people that truly needs their services and knowledge. He reminded the students that results would not matter much later because, according to him, a true successful person should have in-depth knowledge of his profession. He develops and corrects and, most importantly, posses positive attitudes and aptitudes to serve the people with their skills and knowledge, the speaker. Dr Devrani added that a person should not always strive to earn ‘more and more money.’ A person should also strive to be of service to the needy, he said, and wished the students of the institution the best in their future endeavors. Speaking on behalf of the faculty, Veta Nyienu said that the success of the students have boosted the confidence of the institution and faculty. He encouraged them to ‘upgrade themselves’ to be better teachers. While stating that success rates were not judged by one’s career, he urged the students to be an agent of change wherever they were. Co-proprietor of Theta Tutorials, L Kenneth Punyii, was the special guest for the event. Punyii said that the institution ‘always strives to improve the system with the new systems and changes that comes up.’ He assured to give the best to learners in the coming years too. It may be mentioned that Theta Tutorials, a premier tutorial institution, is run by experienced and senior teachers committed to adopting innovative strategies in its programs, to ensure that students get the best possible education by ‘empowering their minds.’ This year, 13 students were selected for the MBBS course and 18 students to BDS, BVSc and others. Nchumthung E Humtsoe, a student of it, was a first ranker for MBBS. Since its inception in 2006, Theta Tutorials has produced successful candidates for various professional courses. The institution has the motto ‘educating and inspiring minds.’ So far, it has produced 140 students for MBBS, 261 for BDS, BVSc and others and 386 in engineering courses.
