Dimapur, July 22 (EMN): The NPCC president, K Therie has dismissed allegations from the NPF supremo, Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsü that he had conspired with former Congress-colleagues – TR Zeliang and Neiphiu Rio – to topple Liezietsü from the seat of chief minister.
The NPCC chief issued a press release on Saturday stating his position on the issue. “All the leaders in the NPF follow RSS–BJP political wing as their godfather. Therefore, the question of interfering in the internal squabble of NPF is none of my business, nor can I do anything.
“Personally, I have no grudge with either Neiphiu Rio TR Zeliang as we were friends and colleagues. We all travel in the political axis. Maybe we are travelling in opposite directions today but tomorrow, we will surely meet again when the circle completes”, the statement read.
According to the former finance minister, despite having the support of all MLAs in the 60-member house, NPF has ‘utterly failed to manage and is therefore accountable for 4 chief ministers in the 12th NLA’.
Therie suggested that the NPF’s pursuit for ‘an eye for an eye’ and ‘greed’ has blinded the party. “They have abandoned the people and the state. The state’s infrastructure is crumbling down before our eyes. The economy of the state is in tatters. After calling BJP-RSS as natural ally and extending unflinching support to BJP presidential nominee, BJP has abandoned NPF. The fracture of NPF is beyond redemption.
“Dr Shürhozelie is right that my friend has kicked me out. I don’t know who is kicking out whom in NPF now as everyone appears to be dressed in boots. So it is, ‘as you sow, so you reap’. It appears Dr Shürhozelie still has doubts about my political philosophy and integrity and thinks I also have connived in removing him from the CM’s chair.
“I was rather happy when he took over the CM’s post and expected him to be reasonable and systematic. I was terribly wrong again when I saw his son’s appointment order as Advisor to CM. He also could not stop his habit of suspension”, the NPCC chief observed.
He also expressed happiness at the NPF’s decision to ‘kick out’ BJP. “I am looking forward to NPF joining secular forces to fight the cow element. I also hope legislators will wake up and see the danger Christians are facing today and come out from the grip of Hindu forces to join social, secular and democratic forces.
