KOHIMA, APRIL 29

The 33rd Commencement Ceremony of the Christ for the Nations Bible College (CFNBC), Kohima was held today at the College premises, honoring the 16 graduating students. Six students graduated in Master of Divinity, while eight graduated in Bachelor of Theology and two graduated in Theology.
Hethinon Mesen, Divisional Accounts Officer, Kohima, gracing the occasion as the guest of honor, congratulated the graduated students stating that it’s a victory day. However, he also cautioned of the many temptations and problems the students would face as they go out for the ministry.
Candidly stating that Bible knowledge will not give salvation to anyone, he urged the students to be contributors and be ambassadors of Christ. Therefore as the servant of God, he advised them to be serious and serve the Lord and the people faithfully and dedicatedly.
Speaking as the guest speaker of the ceremony, Rev K Benri Lotha, Associate Pastor, Lotha Baptist Church, Kohima said as the students graduated to be better ministers of God, he asserted that one must have a godly character, perseverance and the quality of servanthood to glorify and honor Jesus Christ.
Also while pointing out of the many challenges ahead, Rev Benri said real life starts after graduating and therefore, he maintained that one must be ready to embrace the challenges and completely surrender to God, and at the same time work hard with all sincerity to give light and hope to the people.
As they go for their ministries and further studies, Rev Benri advised the graduating students to first seek the Lord and keep yielding to His will and also to continue learning, while stating that there’s more to learn and do outside the classroom.
He also wished the students the best in their endeavours as he led the charge and prayer of consecration for the graduates.
Meanwhile Basanti Katharpi was awarded with Lt Rev Vitokhu’s Award, while Imtiyala Ozukum, Patao and Wangba Konyak were awarded for their excellence in preaching and T Grace Lotha, Vinitoli Swu and Atsibu Meyase were awarded for their excellent academic performance.
The programme was chaired by Lawrence Yanthan, CFNBC vice principal, invocation offered by Eyingbemo Lotha, lecturer and welcome address said by Martemsu Jamir, CFNBC principal. The gathering was enthralled with special numbers presented by CFNBC students and the graduating students as well.
