The Prime Minister is the Father of the Country

While a Prime Minister is from a political party, by virtue of his being the Prime Minister, he is looked upon as the father of the country and he is expected to be above the spirit of narrow partisanship as he is to say” my country, my people” wherever he goes.

During his historic visit to Manipur, being the head of the country, he has to rebuke the leaders of the state for their failures and to commend them for their successes if any. But according to his speeches he is not above a party worker of BJP. The ongoing economic blockade is for a cause. If it can be resolved when BJP takes over the rule, why not the grievances of the Nagas is looked into and get it resolved even before election?

The Honourable Prime Minister said that Manipur is not mentioned in the Framework Agreement. Word might not be mentioned but the leader of the Nagas who is the signatory is a Naga from Manipur area. Regarding Naga integration, integration of all contiguous areas inhabited by the Nagas enshrined in the 16 points Agreement in 1959 has been acceded by the GoI. According to Morung Express 25.2.17, NSCN (I-M) said that the GoI has candidly proclaimed integration the legitimate right of the Nagas. So the question of “ not a single word is mentioned in the Framework Agreement” does not arise. The Prime Minister and the Home Minister are expected to be realistic and genuine in any situation.
