Dimapur, June 16 (EMN): A translated version of the famous Christian allegory ‘The Pilgrim’s Progress’ written by John Bunyan into Liangmai (Naga) language was released at Lungwiran Baptist Church during devotional service on June 16.

The book was translated by M Ringsanbo Zeliang. He is a retired Managing Director of Nagaland Handloom and Handicraft Development Corporation Limited (NHHDC).

In the preface to the book, the translator made an allegory of three families from his native Ntu village under Peren district, who in 1933 decided to part way from paganism and embraced Christianity much to the indignation of fellow villagers. The first Christian converts from his village were his late father Hugangbo, Adiubo and Namkianglungbo.

Local pastor of Lungwiram Baptist Church, I Panme, who also released the book, expressed conviction that people’s faith would be strengthened spiritually by the reading of the book. He urged the congregation to read the book for guidance in their life’s journey.
