Tenyidie students publish collection of poems, stories

Dimapur, Nov. 23 (EMN): The honour students of Tenyidie BA, 6th semester, of Kohima College in Kohima have released a book “Peli Mhathu.” The book consists of 52 poems and eight short stories written by the students, updates on Thursday informed.
The book was released by Thinuokhrienuo Tseikha, vice principal of the college, it was informed. Speaking at the event, the vice principal said that the occasion was a moment to be proud of for the college. This kind of contribution should be practiced more, she said. Congratulating the students for the milestone, she remarked that the event will be written in the records of the college as a great achievement, the updates stated.
Mhalezolie Kire, of the college’s Tenyidie department also spoke at the programme. He called the book ‘first ever in the history of the college where students had collectively released a book of their own.’ Many great English writers have made a great career out of publishing books and that even in modern era, he was quoted as having said, ‘The scope is high.’
The Tenyidie students are said to have opined that the book was written to ‘promote and preserve the rich heritage of Tenyidie literature.’ The book is priced at Rs.150 and will be available in the Kohima College Students’ Council’s office. It will be made available in the book stores as well, it was informed.
