Tedious discussion

We would like to suggest that it would be less than wise to treat the Naga political issue as a platform for political advantage. We would then like to remind the authorities that the high-velocity publicity practices concerning the Naga political issue is ruining the affairs.
One thing is that, we have been witnessing high-pitch discussions on the Naga political issue but such affairs will be considered as just an eye-wash as long as “the suggestive roadmap” is absent. There is some substance in the comments made by Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president K Therie on the DAN-III Opposition-less government’s discussion of Naga political issue. According to him, such discussion on Naga political issue sans tentative or suggestive roadmap is nothing but a waste.
If we open the record book to check the dealings of the state government in the past five decades we will find that there were these repetitive discussions on Naga political issue and resolutions. The first discussion and the subsequent resolution on the ‘demand for integration of all contiguous Naga inhabited areas under one administrative umbrella, and to urge upon the government of India to fulfill the same’ were held on December 12, 1964. There were reiterations on the same by the state assembly on August 28, 1970, on September 16, 1994, on December 18, 2003 and on July 27, 2015.
To the people such practices of the state government are monotonous exercises. We want to see a practical state government and not the clichéd approach.
Regarding the state assembly’s resolution to urge upon the government of India and the NSCN (K) for the resumption of the ceasefire agreement Mr. Therie said that the state government only tried to remember the past and has regretted its own action of ceasefire abrogation between NSCN (K) and New Delhi. According to the NPCC chief, if at all the legislators were really sincere to revive the ceasefire then there should be a concrete suggestion as to how to bridge the gap between warring groups.
Sadly, the state government seems to be doing things to seek to press political advantage in an extremely important issue such as this.
