Team USPA defeats UK’s polo association

Imphal, Jan.19: United Kingdom’s Hurlingham Polo Association (HPA) which had defeated host team Manipur in their Wednesday match, lost to Team United States Polo Association (USPA) 16-9 goals in the ongoing 5-day 2nd Manipur statehood day women’s polo tournament at the historic Mapal Kangjeibung, the world’s oldest polo ground in Imphal on Thursday.
Stephanie Massey, Anna Winslow and Carley Persono scored for team USPA, while the HPA scorers are Charlotte Amy Sweeney, Annabel Mcnaught, Maimie Powell and Sarah Jane Hughes.In their match with Manipur on Wednesday, HPA downed host team by 8-4 goals. The women polo tournament which was started on January 17, is being organised by Manipur Tourism in association with the All Manipur Polo Association. The tourney will continue till January 21, the statehood day of Manipur.
