Dimapur, Sep. 24 (EMN): Eight football teams from across the district, vying for the coveted championship of the Tuensang District Football Association (TDFA) Cup, have qualified for the quarter-finals which is scheduled to be played at the parade ground in Tuensang. Excel Naga, 40th Assam Rifles, DEF Tuensang, Oziepik FC, Donching Yangmai, Khiamniungan Sports Council, Pisgah United, and Vitao Ayie FC have all qualified for the quarter-final round.
In the first match on Monday, Leipzig Stars FC blanked Sonic Stickers 2-0. The goals for Leipzig Stars FC were scored by Imlong and Kelep in the 38th and 42nd minutes in the second half of the match. In the second match, Homers FC beat Mohican Boys 2-0 through Lachim and Toki in the 40th and 16th minutes of the second half.
In the third match, DEF Tuensang blanked Spartan FC by 2-0. The goal for DEF Tuensang was scored by Samuel and John in the 12th and 60th minutes. The last match between Foothill United FC and Phoenix ended in a 2-2 draw. Soa Chang and Gopal scored for Foothill United FC while David and Chume scored for Phoenix Rising FC.
The Tuensang District Football Association Cup also witnessed for the first time the use of Referee headphones (Vphonenet) intercom.

4th match: Pisgah United vs Vitao Ayie FC.
