Dimapur, March 5 (EMN): Tizu Area Public Welfare Organisation (TAPWO) under Phek district has expressed displeasure over construction of Sathiri – Chepoketa road, which was stopped abruptly.

Stating that the said road is the only road connecting Phek district headquarters and the Zunheboto district, TAPWO president Vechineyi Khesoh and the general secretary Shekhohu Chizo said the worsening road condition has adversely affected the day to day life activities particularly to the public commuters.

It lamented that the road construction was completely stopped without any labourers at this time of the year when it is the peak season to start the work before the onset of monsoon season.

TAPWO, along with the entire public, earnestly requested the concerned contractor to restart the work at the earliest possible time so as to enable the people to ply on the good road like those of other people in the State with good road. It also requested the Executive Engineer of PWD Phek, Er. Abhija, who is executing the road construction, to resume the work in order to avoid inconveniences to the public.

It alleged that the concerned contractor turned a deaf ear despite several appeals made by the leaders. While appealing to resume the work at the earliest possible, it cautioned that the concerned authority would be held solely responsible in the event of any untoward incident that might occur in the near future for failing to comply with its demand.
