Tamenglong BJP chooses two ex-ministers for polls

IMPHAL, OCTOBER 21: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Tamenglong Mandal, on Friday announced former minister Samuel Jendai as its candidate to contest in the forthcoming state assembly election from Tamenglong Assembly Constituency.
The Tamenglong Mandal BJP’s President Phunggan Phaomei made the announcement during an all-booth-level committee meeting, Autonomous District Council (ADC) segment leaders at Tamenglong district headquarters, 150 km west of Imphal on Friday, a report from the hill town said.
Former minister Samuel Jendai, who was elected thrice from the Samata party, the Federal Party of Manipur, and the Manipur State Congress Party, and former MLA Khangthuanang Panmei, who was elected as an Independent member are the two intending candidates for the constituency.
Appealing to citizens not to be confused about the selection of candidates, Phunggan Phaomei said that the declaration of candidature was made following discussions during the joint coordination meeting of the Tamenglong Mandal Committee, Booth Level Committees and Members of BJP ADCs.
During the day’s program, the unit also felicitated newly-appointed office bearers of the district committee, cells and Morchas including Namkhuanliu Gonmei, president of the BJMM, Tamenglong district; Namchei Gangmei, president of the BJKM, Tamenglong district; KC Glady, vice president of the BJP, Tamenglong district; TP Namgomang, vice president of the ST Morcha, BJP, Tamenglong district; Forceson Khumba, vice president of ST Morcha, BJP, Tamenglong district; Njangamang, general secretary of the BJP, Tamenglong district; Puksureiyang Pamei, general secretary, ST Morcha of the BJP, Tamenglong district and KG Mathew, secretary of the BJP, Tamenglong district.
