Support the Ongoing Indo – Naga Talk to the Last

In 1964 we 12 MLAs belonging to Democratic Party of Nagaland had to resign en masse in support of the Indo – Naga talk in accordance with the laid down principle of the party under the Chairmanship of Kevichüsa.

The Shillong Accord I never blame the Signatories and the associated leaders. It was not a sell – out of the Nagas but it was a compelled surrender under the compelled circumstances for the sake of the crushing public. In actual deed they were innocent but aftermath of the Accord they committed blunder in certain matters which betrayed the actual purpose.

After the Shillong Accord which was “ To accept the constitution of India on their own volition “ the leaders of the GoI said that the question of talk does not arise except to talk over peripheral matters.

But in 1997 the NSCN ( I –M ) and the GoI had a ceasefire agreement and resumed Indo- Naga talk at the highest level like that of 1964. So the Indo – Naga talk was resumed and started to embark on.

Since that time on I repeated the same tune up to now saying that whoever is leading the talk should be supported to be successful because success or failure will affect all of the Nagas.

Every body is impatient and is eager to see a sooner settlement. If the talk is sabotaged or delayed by any one out of hatred , it will be a heavy burden for such responsible men and women before God and before the people.
