Kasheto Yeptho addressing the gathering at the Chekiye Village Students’ Union conference on January 12.

Dimapur, Jan. 12 (EMN): Expounding that corruption has reached its zenith in the Naga society, Class-I contractor Z Kasheto Yeptho has called upon each and every individual including students to find out the root cause of corruption and uproot from the society once and for all to ensure a progressive society for generations to come.

Speaking as the chief guest at the annual conference of the Chekiye Village Students’ Union (CVSU) held on the theme ‘Strive for excellence’ on January 12, Kasheto was of the view that supporting the movement on clean election campaign initiated by NBCC would be a right step towards cleaning up corruption from the state.

Impressed by the large gathering of parents and village elders, Kasheto has urged the parents and elders to continually encourage, guide and mould the younger generations to become responsible members of the society. He also pointed out that being cooperative, punctual and discipline are essential qualities every student must put into practice in their everyday activities. He said these three qualities would help them a long way in their lives.

While reminding that we are living in a cut-throat competitive world, he said only those who are excellent would be absorbed into all opportunities that come along their way while those with simple pass certificates would not fit into anything. He urged the students to acquire quality education and encouraged them to aim high and study hard with dedication in order to excel in life. He also advised students not to forget the struggles made by their parents to give them better education so that they become successful in life.

He concluded his remarks by calling upon the students to uphold moral values of life and let others respect their character.

Vikali Zhimomi, Director of We for Women, was the speaker of the one-day event.
