Students in Mkg advised to look beyond government jobs

A one day seminar on career guidance under the theme “Self-Reliant and Capacity Building” was organized by Asetkong Kaketshir Telongjem Mundang at Longkumer Kilem on Saturday. The resource persons for the seminar were, Rajesh Soundararajan (IAS) ADC, Mokokchung, Pangjungkala Longchar SDO (TC), PWD (R&B) and Tsukti Lkr Vice president of MCCI and Chairman of the Mokokchung Entrepreneurs Consortium Consortium . They shared their experiences in their respective fields.
Rajesh Soundararajan (IAS) encouraged the students to choose their career wisely before it gets frozen. He also added that it was okay to have more option to choose.
He also advised the students to use the leverage of technology availed today to acquire necessary information and resources for every competitive examinations.
He also suggested to set their target high and not to be confined with the facilities available here but to explore more options available outside.
Tsukti Lkr, however, suggested that “Nagas by nature don’t want to be under others.” Saying that our parents taught us to study hard but did not teach us to work hard he argued it is the reason why see growth but not development. He also mentioned that Government alone is not only agent of employment but entrepreneurship also provides more job avenues.
He also highlighted the various career opportunities in entrepreneurship and added that without financial risk there is no scope for an entrepreneur.
And also, Pangjungkala Longchar, highlighted the various job avenues and opportunity when opting for technical career. She encouraged the students to be dedicated in their studies. More than 70 students from various units attended the seminar.
