A local students’ organization in Mokokchung called the Asetkong Kaketshir Telongjem Mungdang (AKTM), the apex students’ body of Asetkong range of the district, on Friday inspected the main road project undertaken at its range.
The Impur junction to Sungkomen Ward road project under Central Road Fund (CRF) from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highway was started in June, 2015.
During the spot inspection the AKTM’s president Rongsennukshi Aier along with his colleagues and executive members were apprised by the Vertex construction project manager Kanoto Zhimomi that the project is going smoothly as per its schedule and they are expecting to complete the project within the given time frame.
He also informed that the earth cutting is almost completed and now they are in the process of soling phase.
Expressing satisfaction at the ongoing project, the AKTM president said that the road project is of ample importance not only for the Yimchalu village but also for the entire range and its neighboring ranges both commercially and economically in days to come.
On behalf of the AKTM, Rongsennukshi also urged the village councils and stakeholders to give their support and cooperation for the successful completion of the said project, which is assumed to be completed by coming 2017.
Aier, further lauded Parliamentary Secretary Dr Imtiwapang Aier for his ‘vision and taking the initiative in bringing this central project, which was a long felt need for the range and making it into a reality after many years.’
AKTM also cautioned that no anti social elements should ‘hamper the smooth progress of the work for the benefit of the people.’
