Students attend Bangkok law conference

Kohima Law College has informed that nine students from the institution, pictured, attended an event for lawyers in Bangkok recently.

Dimapur, August 21 (EMN): Nine students of Kohima Law College attended the Asian Conference for Law Students at Bangkok in Thailand recently. The event was conducted from August 11 to the 16th, a press release from the institution stated on Monday.
The students were Nzanmongi Odyuo, Khriezovonuo Kirha, Chumbeni Kithan, Helen Tungoe, Toshika Wotsa, S. Birila, Petesenuo Perhielie, Bokali Kasho and Grace Lotha, stated the press release appended by Kezhokhoto Savi, Professor in-charge, Kohima Law College.
The conference was stated to have been conducted with ‘redeeming law: Christian calling and the legal profession’ as the theme.
“The main aim of the conference was to bring together local and international law students, to learn, exchange ideas, innovate and collaborate and understand aspects of international law. It also seeks to enable and inspire laws students to become part of an expanding global movement to transform law and culture,” the press release stated.
Law students from various countries including Indonesia, India, South Korea, China, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Pakistan participated, it was informed.
Speakers were drawn from South Korea, Germany, India, America, and Singapore. The spoke about various topics: Christian perspective of Human Rights; responding to religious persecution; ‘hallmarks of a Christian lawyer’; issues about restriction on Freedom of Speech; Christ and modern culture; issues about building a network of Christian lawyers across Asia and ‘devotional services on the calling of a Christian lawyer.
