Students asked to help one another without obligation

(EM Images)[/caption] Wokha, Dec. 30 (EMN): MLA from Bhandari assembly constituency, Mmhonlumo Kikon, has called upon the public to come together by setting aside petty personal differences and evolve measures toward building the society with renewed dedication and commitment. Addressing a large gathering of students on the golden jubilee celebration of Lotha Lower Range Students’ Union (LLRSU) in Bhandari town on December 29, Kikon called upon to collaborate with each other in this age of competition to achieve success. Stating that the present generation is replaced by artificial intelligence where manual jobs are done by machines and technology, he advised the students to be prepared and invade the future. He also encouraged the range community to take ownership in tackling any situation and initiate small steps to bring about big changes in the society. He has wished God’s blessings upon the range students’ community to shine wherever they are planted. He also advised them not to wait for the government to get things done but learn to contribute with their gift of talents. K Libanthung Lotha, Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, exhorted the students to identify their potential and focus to bring achievement. He also encouraged the students to have good relationship with their parents in pursuit for excellence and to help one another without any obligations. Dr. ML Ngullie, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, DGC, speaking on the theme ‘Re-shaping the future,’ advised the students to rid bad habits that are hindrance to progress including physical and mental health. He encouraged them to prioritise studies as students and design their goals in order to make their lives worth living. He motivated the community to be well prepared and stand firm till they achieve their desired goals. He further advised to work hard with dedication and face the challenges with confidence. Earlier in the day, Kikon unveiled the jubilee monolith, while the dedicatory prayer was said Rev. RP Murray. EN Kithan, director of land record and survey, graced the valedictory session as the special guest. He called upon the students to come out of their comfort zone and start working without depending on others. He also advocated dignity of labour be an asset to the society. Lipemo M Tsopoe, president of Lotha Students’ Union, applauded the union for the successful conduct of the jubilee celebration. He has conveyed best wishes as they continue their services to the society. A short deliberation on the demand of Bhandari district was shared by Bhandari District Demand Committee member, Chenithung Humtsoe. He insisted on the need to have a separate district as the region has boundary dispute with neighbouring state of Assam. He also clarified that demand for a separate district was not to create division among the Lothas.
