Dimapur, Dec. 17 (EMN): The Nagaland BJP Minority Morcha has strongly condemned the attack on priests and seminaries of St. Ephrem’s Theological College when they were conducting a Carol programme—a routine practice during the Christmas season—at Satna, Madhya Pradesh. Their vehicle was also said to have been burned by ‘anti social’ and fanatics.
The morcha said, ‘It was very unfortunate that, in a great secular country, some fanatics are trying to stop prayers of Christian minority by accusing them of forceful conversation which is baseless.’
A press release from the president of the state BJP Minority Morcha Mukibur Rahman stated that the Catholic Christian community of the country has been contributing much to the welfare of the country especially in education and health. It added that they were peace loving people, serving people irrespective of religion, caste or creed and serving as the best example of serving humanity without any benefit.
The morcha has assured the Christian community: “We are closely monitoring the situation and do whatever possible from our side to stop atrocities against minorities in the country.”
It group also cautioned the anti social not to disrupt peace or else there would be ‘consequences.’
The BJP unit has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modiji and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to give security to the minorities.
