State of the art hospital comes up in Kohima

KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 28

Chief Minister TR Zeliang today inaugurated a state of the art hospital—KP Bethesda Hospital—in Kohima. The chief minister congratulated the proprietor of the hospital Dr Neikhrielie Solo and his team and described Dr Solo as the moving spirit and driver of this hospital project,who is also the first ortho-surgeon in Nagaland, having a vast experience, spanning 25 years in providing quality health care in the state.
The chief minister also said he is quiet impressed by the state of the art setting of this establishment, which has come up in the state capital and within the easy reach of the people.
Stating that the economy of many families are ruined due to the high cost of treatment outside the state, Zeliang expressed confidence that the hospital will definitely provide great convenience and better facilities to patients who are unable to go outside the state.
He also expressed hope that with the opening of this hospital, which is equipped with modern technology, the health care system in the capital city will improve.
And as nominated patron of the hospital, Zeliang extended his best wishes to the entire team of KP Bethesda Hospital led by Dr Neikhrielie Solo, and is confident that the hospital will play an important role in providing quality and affordable health care to the people of the state and indirectly make each one richer.
Also speaking at the programme, Minister Health and Family Welfare, P Longon said that good health of the citizens is the greatest asset of the people and the state, “and therefore, the wealth of the state is determined by the health of the citizens”.
Stating that quality health care services are available at “our doorstep” being provided by “our doctors” who are equally qualified in their own fields of expertise like the rest of other doctors in the world, Longon said he is encouraged to see this type of hospital coming up in “our home city” where the state of the art medical treatment will be provided to the people.

Meanwhile, John Kevimezhalie Sote, VDB Secretary, Kohima in his welcome address said the project work for the hospital took 12 years to reach to what it is today which started in the year 2003. He said the project started with the idea of establishing a hospital with modern facilities to meet the medical requirements of the people in the state.
He added that the goal of the society is to create job avenues, as well as to impart the latest technologies in diagnostic and treatment facilities together with the able knowledge of the doctors for the well being of the local mass.
“It also aims at roping in experts from within and outside the country in the field of medical science for the benefit of our people.” He also assured to give its best services to the people, while also seeking the support and cooperation of all in its endeavours.
Earlier the programme was chaired by Dr Viketoulie Pienyii, Psychotherapist, prayer by Fr OC Abraham and vote of thanks proposed by Dr Matsung Angami, Neurologist.
The programme saw in attendance the presence of legislators, parliamentary secretaries, bureaucrats and officials of various departments.
