State employees training begins in Dimapur

Dimapur, March 14 (EMN): Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) sponsored induction training programme for the newly recruited group ‘B’ & ‘C” State employees of Dimapur district and organised by Administrative Training Institute (ATI) in collaboration with district administration got underway at Circuit House, Dimapur, on March 14.
Deputy Commissioner and guest of honour, Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome, in his exhorting, said there is a growing gap between how a government servant is supposed to function and the way they perform. Stating that the image and the credibility of a government lie with the employees, he urged the trainees to develop a sense of responsibility. He said no amount of trainings would penetrate enough unless the person is willing to develop or change.Deputy Commissioner also expressed concern to observe that government servants are not sincere enough while dealing with public. He, therefore, felt the need for personality development of the employees and change of attitude while dealing with people.
Stressing on the importance of information and communication technologies, he said if the employees are not acquainted to use computer, they become a liability instead of an asset to the government. He appealed the participants to acquaint themselves with the technologies and pick up every skill they possibly can and also to focus on interaction with the public.
The inaugural function was chaired by Dr. Vimezo Kire, CEO, FFDA, Dimapur. Introduction to the training programme was given by Deputy Director, ATI and the vote of thanks was proposed by SCD (C), Dimapur, Albert Ezung.
Resource persons for the 10- day training included pastor of Town Baptist Church, Vilodi Sakhrie; E-District Manager, Imsanger Longkumer; SDO (C), Dimapur, James Swu; and District TOTs. The training programme will conclude on March 24.
