St. Joseph’s College wins first cut inter-collegiate contest

Dimapur, Dec. 12 (EMN): Team Authenticus of St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama, was declared winner of the Hornbill first cut inter-collegiate entrepreneurship competition 2018. The trophy was presented by H Khehovi Yepthomi, advisor of tourism and art and culture during the closing ceremony of Hornbill festival in Kisama.
The 2018 edition of the competition was supported by YouthNet in partnership with the department of tourism, Government of Nagaland.
Altogether 55 participants from different colleges across the state competed in the competition. The competition was judged by the Global Network team on parameters such as time management, innovation, originality of idea, social media, leadership, team work to name a few.

The award for leadership “Beyond the call of duty” was won by team Uza from Sazolie College, while the award for time management “On the dot” was won by team Roots from Mount Olive College, Kohima, and the award for innovation “Ace of Innovation” was won by team Authenticus from St.Joseph’s college, Jakhama.
The award for team work “Team awesome” was won by team Ignite from St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama, while the award for originality of idea “Pioneer” was won by team Uza from Sazolie College, Jotsoma, and the award for sales “Star sales” was won by team Authenticus from St. Joseph’s college, Jakhama.

The award for social media presence “Digital spotlight” was won by team Uza from Sazolie College, Jotsoma, and the award for accounts keeping “Book- keeper” was won by team Professional Pirates from St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama.
The 2018 edition of Hornbill first cut competition was organised on the theme ‘Made in Nagaland.’ Each team was given a seed capital of INR 10,000 to execute ideas within a stipulated time period.

The objective was to educate students about entrepreneurship and opportunities in the private sector while giving them a taste of the challenges that they will face in the business environment.

A total of 11 teams from six colleges consisting of 55 persons have participated in the competition. Revenue generated was given to the students while the winning team would also get a free trip to metropolitan cities.
