Dimapur, Aug. 20: Over a dozen trainees from Emporium Training and Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. have been selected by SpiceJet airlines as cabin crews in a campus recruitment drive on Monday.
A team of human resource personnel — Akriti Vaid, Akshat Gupta, and Hazel Phillipes — from SpiceJet interviewed 103 trainees from the Emporium Training and Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. and 13 of them were selected to work with the SpiceJet airlines as cabin crews.

The selected candidates are expected to draw a salary between INR 60,000 and 70,000, including benefits after being formally inducted into the airlines.
Trainees at the Emporium Training and Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. told Eastern Mirror that they learned so many things from the course offered by the institute.

“It (course) is a very good opportunity because it is free course training. We learned how to present ourselves, how to work in a team, and how to use body language. It has been a great experience,” said Asheli Yepthomi, one of candidates selected by the airlines.

“Emporium has already placed more than 1000 Naga youths in the international and domestic airlines, five star hotels, and luxury cruises across the globe. Previously, this training was conducted in Kolkata but now, with the support of the state government and the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) scheme, the trainees are getting the privilege to undergo training here itself in Nagaland,” said Anirban Mukherjee, operations manager of the institute.

“The training is free of cost. Agency charge, placement charge, or recruitment charge will not be imposed on the candidates,” said Mukherjee, adding that the trainees, who were faced interview on Monday, were the first batch under the PMKVY scheme in Nagaland.

Mukherjee assured that it would bring companies like JW Marriott Mumbai, Grand Hyatt Chennai, Indigo, Jet Airways, Go Air, Hyatt Agency Delhi, ITC Grand Bharat Gurgaon, and Holiday Inn Goa for recruitment in the future.

“This week Oberoi in Dubai and Ajman UAE will be conducting Skype interview for which admission is going on now,” he said.
Many trainees from the institute have been recruited in national and international establishments like the Oberoi Hotel in Mumbai, ITC Grand Central Mumbai, ITC Grand Chola Chennai, and ITC Gardenia in the past.

Emporium Training and Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. is a registered Vocational Training Provider sponsored by the ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and the directorate of Employment. It is located at Nagarjan in Dimapur.

The institute conducts free training in skill development and capacity building programmes for unemployed youths in Nagaland and provides employment opportunities in the field of aviation and hospitality. It recruits 220 trainees every three months and its annual target is 880.
