Kohima, Feb. 19 (EMN): Former minister of state for Human Resource Development, Sanjay Paswan, who is a member of Bhartiya Janata Party’s manifesto committee, said the party has given special attention to the Northeast region by dedicating an entire page in its ten-paged manifesto set to be released in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections this year.

Addressing journalists after an interaction session on ‘Bharat ki baat, Modi ki saat’ with students and youth at Hotel Japfu in Kohima on Tuesday, Paswan said the party will also include at least one member in the manifesto sub-committee.

“It is a great favour for any zone that one page has been given so that if any issues needs to be addressed, it will be accommodated in the manifesto”, he stated.

Paswan added that the purpose of his visit was to discuss and interact with the youth so that their feedbacks can be compiled and accommodated in the manifesto.

“The top leaders of BJP party have been deputed to every parts of the country in the last fifteen days to deliberate and interact with the people in order to make the vision of the manifesto more inclusive for all,” he said.

Talking about the opposition to the Citizenship Bill by NE states, he said that the BJP as a party would ensure that the Bill does not disturb the fabric of the region.

On the vexed Naga political issue, the former minister said that the Naga political issue and Kashmir issue were a big concern and a top priority for the NDA government. “The solution may come before the election or may take some time but our government is very concerned and honest on this issue,” he added.

When asked about ‘internal rift’ within the state’s BJP leadership, Dr. Sukhato A Sema, the vice president of the Nagaland unit of BJP, said there is no misunderstanding within the party or among the leaders. He also shared his confidence that the PDA will overcome their opponents in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
