Dimapur, Jan. 16 (EMN): The Directorate of Field Publicity Ministry of I&B organised a special outreach programme, 3rd quarter, 2nd phase at community hall, Hakchang village in Tuensang on Jan. 16
EAC, Tuensang Tshelhi-ü attended programme as the chief guest.
The programme emphasised on Beti Bachao Beti Phadhao and Swacchata Abhiyaan.
Council members, student leaders, church leaders of the village attended the programme.
FPO, Tuensang Lhouzotuo Casavi in his keynote address apprised of the directive issued by the Ministry of I&B to conduct the Beti Bachao Beti Pahdao outreach programme especially on Hakchang village on account of the decline in sex ratio to 85%.
DCPO, Tuensang, N S khaki presented a statistical data of the declining sex ratio and highlighted the possible causes of the declining status of sex ratio in India. He also shared problems of female discrimination, female child feticide, importance of female child education, and health care to uplift the female status in the society.
Speaking on Swacchata Abhiyan, Junior engineer, PHED P Ngaman highlighted the necessary components for successful implementation of the programme. He stressed on issues including the use of safe drinking water, sanitary toilet, personal hygiene and open defecation and its related diseases.
Summing the speeches of the resources persons, the chief guest, Tshelhi-ü enlightened the gathering to get maximum benefit from the programme.
“Work more and get our district enlisted as an open defecation free district in State,” she added.
