Special National Integration camp underway at Patkai College

Dimapur, Jan. 5: Special National Integration Camp (SNIC), an annual event of National Cadet Corps (NCC) got underway at Patkai Christian College (PCC) Dimapur from January 4 to 15.
The aim of the camp is to foster a spirit of unity amongst the cadets, cutting across regional, religious, linguistic and cultural barriers, and to provide them an opportunity to learn from each other`s culture and traditions.
600 NNC from different parts of the country is participating, including 110 cadets from North East Region. Various programs showcasing knowledge of Indian customs and traditional history of seven sisters, cultural heritage and economic development of India will be conducting in order to promote closer understanding and integration among National Cadet Corps cadets of different states. Cadets will also be conducting social activities, cleanliness drive and community hygiene activities.
Training programs such as drill, sports and adventure activities like trekking and other extracurricular activities like cultural programs, declamation and debate will also be organised to develop confidence and public speaking.
Selected cadets in various activities will represent their respective state in National level camps and Youth Exchange programs to visit certain foreign countries.
Among the 50 National Integration Camps there are six Special National Integration Camps, conducted every year in the far extremities of the country, such as Port Blair (Andaman Islands), Lakshadweep Islands, Jaisalmer (Rajasthan), Leh/Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir), New Delhi & in the North East, at Nagaland.
Currently NCC group Headquarter, Kohima on behalf of NER Directorate, Shillong is hosting the SNIC Nagaland at Patkai Christian College, Chumukedima Dimapur.
