Soul Winners’ conference underway in Kohima

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 9

The 13th Asia Soul Winners annual conference commenced today at Rengma Baptist Church, Kohima, under the theme “Walking with God.”Delegates from America, Bhutan, Nepal and neighboring states Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam including Nagaland are part of the three-day annual conference which will conclude on Sunday evening.
Speaking on the theme at the opening service tonight, Pamela Beth Pergues, Director, Frontline Resource, Illinois, USA, preached to the congregation the importance of listening to God’s voice to be able to walk with Him.
“Always being aware of God’s presence and learning to hear His voice will help us get closer to Him,” she preached adding that “Walking with God is about resting in Him.”
She went on to preach that “God is strong and powerful, but He is also gentle and tender,” adding “As we grow in the Lord, He starts speaking the truth to us.”
About a Christian life, the Illinois preacher said “It’s not about the destination, but the journey itself has a purpose.”
The programme was chaired by Jacob Tep, while the praise & worship was led by the youth department of Rengma Baptist Church (RBC), Kohima. The welcome address was delivered by Rev Khriesito Z. Savino, chairman, Asia Soul Winners (ASW), greetings by Rev. Khevihe Yepthomi, associate director, Nagaland Missions Movement, Dimapur, special song by youth department RBC, Kohima. A ministry report on mass evangelism crusade was presented by Rev. Salnang Sangma, ASW mission coordinator, Guwahati, Assam.
The other resource persons for the conference are Pastor Ahyulo Kent, president, Council of Rengma Baptist Churches, Pastor Ramon Abalos, Mission Pastor, Fellowship of Believers Church, Florida, USA and Debbie Abalos, mission board member, Fellowship of Believers Church, Florida, USA. The annual conference is being hosted by the Rengma Baptist Church, Kohima.
There will also be an Asian cultural spotlight and gospel songs on October 11 (Sunday) from 2 to 4 pm with Rev. Balie Kirha, FCF Asia Representative as the chief guest.
