Diphu, June 12 (EMN): Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal visited Karbi Anglong District as part of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) election-2017 today. The campaign programme started from Bokolia and Diphu at Diphu Gov’t Boys Higher Secondary school playground respectively.

Chief Minster Sarbananda Sonowal in his speech said, Karbi Anglong District is a beautiful district where diversity of communities like Karbi, Dimasa, Kuki, Hmar, Rengma, Ahom, Assamese, Bodo, Adivasi and Bengali live together for many year maintaining peace and harmony among the community in the region.

The central and state government has sanctioned money for its developmental work to KAAC but the KAAC leader use to consume all the money that is why there in no development in the region, added Sonowal.

BJP government will work for the welfare of the people and all the work will be done transparency, added Sonowal.

If BJP comes to power in the next KAAC election more employment generation will be created for the youth in the district, said Sonowal.

Health scheme for poor people was introduced by BJP government called ‘Atal Amrit Abhijan’. In this scheme two lakhs is awarded to the patient in any kind of sickness and free CT scan being provided to the patient.

The BJP governments is doing the development works towards education, medical, women empowered in the region, added Sonowal.

Addressing in the meeting, chief executive member (KAAC) Tuliram Ronghang, slam the Congress and Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC) who ruled KAAC for 15 years. He said these two parties ruled Karbi Anglong for 15 years without any development in Karbi Anglong.

He said ‘When BJP came into power in KAAC within one year sustainable development work was done in the district, the development work like Science college, Polyticnic, B.ed College and DIET college was established in the district.’

Special package of Rs. 50 crores were sanctioned for the development work of KAAC, Rs. 50 crores for road connectivity from Doboka to Dimapur, Rs. 47 crores for construction of two lines from Sarihajan to Dillai and Rs. 197 crores were sanctioned for road connectivity from Garampani to Dimapur.
