Silverbacks win the 1st Tennis Ball Super Six cricket tourney

Kohima, June 22(EMN): Silverbacks defeated Hit and Run by 6 wickets in the final to win the 1st Tennis Ball Super Six cricket Tournament 2017 held here at Kohima High School ground on Thursday.
The three-day tournament was organized by Middle Bayavii Youth Organization (MBYO) Kohima under the theme, ‘Unite & bring success’. Winner
Silverbacks were awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000 sponsored by Thenuokhrielie Yaotsu along with the certificates and runners up team Hit & Run received Rs 5000 sponsored by Keviselhou Sekhose. While the third place Middle Bayavu Lions pocketed Rs 2500 sponsored by Khriesazo Liezietsu. The awards were given away by Middle Bayavu welfare board chairman Medo Koza.
During the final match, Hit & Run team set a target of 40 runs in 5.5 overs. Chasing a modest target, Silverbacks managed to chase the target in just 3.5 overs losing four wickets.With Subin and Pete contributing the highest 29 and 10 runs each respectively for Silverbacks.
While clashing for the 3rd position, Middle Bayavu Lions defeated 6 Challengers by 19 runs. Electing to bat, Middle Bayavu Lions manage to set a target of 70 runs in 6 overs. In reply, 6 challengers managed to score only 51 runs in 6 overs.
