Kohima, March 23 (EMN): Radiant Cricket Club and Whiskers Cricket Club, Dimapur today booked their semi-final berth of the 8th Silver Cup T20- Cricket Tournament, organised by Nepali Baptist Church Kohima Youth Department at Jakhama local ground on the theme “Peace and Unity through Cricket”.
Playing the third quarter-final match, Radiant CC defeated KODH CC by 114 runs. Favoured in toss, Radiant CC took the bats to set a target of 189 runs in 20 overs with major contributions coming from Jintu 41, Miki 29 and Biki 25 runs. KODH CC bowler, Martin took 4 wickets.
Chasing the huge target, KODH CC batsmen were bundled out for 74 runs. John and Samuel contributed 21 and 18 runs respectively. Radiant CC bowlers Tusenfa took 4 wickets and Imli 2 wickets. Man of the match went to Jintu of Radiant CC for scoring 41 runs In the last quarter-final match, Whiskers CC Dimapur sent back the visiting team Shillong Mavericks by 28 runs.
Winning the toss, Whiskers CC elected to bat setting a target of 167 in 20 overs. Tejasol contributed 75 runs while Imliwati added 21 and Sanu 15 runs.
Shillong Mavericks bowlers Lakhan and Nafees took 3 wickets each.
Shillong Mavericks fell short of wickets as they were all out for 138 runs in 19.1 overs. Raj Biswas contributed 55 runs while Kalam made 20 and Saibal 18 runs for Mavericks.
Whiskers bowler Hokaito claimed 3 wickets followed by Sanu and Imliwati with 2 wickets each.
Tejasol was declared the Man of the match. He also became the holder of Red Cap (highest run getter) of the tournament so far with 137 runs.
