How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrows in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me? Psalm 13:1,2 The moments of desperation comes only when it comes and the trails of it makes us see the exact realities of what we face. For as much as we desire the truth, the challenges which are to be faced also multiplies. The baptism of suffering stirs us to be down on our knees, even as we remember all that we taught and learned. The Prophets had enemies, so did the Apostles and as the nature of this war is, persecutions against us will also be on a high. The nature of my suffering which I am enduring right now makes me see of how much I need Christ and of how much the world needs God. Everyone has different woes, different sufferings and the desire to let someone understand us comes most when the wounds within us are deep. as I wake up in the morning I suffer so much and to go back to sleep would ,mean more trouble .in addition to this I cannot sleep during the day time, even if I close my eyes for some few moments to rest, the pain increases. But even in all of these God’s ways are never a mistake and it teaches us of what endurance is. The cry to God must increase and if there are guilt within it must be confessed. The prophet Jeremiah did not sin, neither did Ezekiel but it was the man after God’s own heart who loved much and sinned much. The truth is this: The two nature of attacks against us comes either because of our sins or because of the enemy’s envy. The four petitions of this saint speaks of a troubled relationship and of the turmoil within, even as he prayed against the mockery of his enemies. The psalms he wrote are all about him, all about Israel and of our relationship with God. The preceding verses of this scripture accounts “ Look on me and answer, O Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death; my enemies will say, “ I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice when I fall. But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me.”( Psalm 13:3-6 ) The language of this 6th verse psalms speaks of the petitions made, the desires made known but most importantly the end lines of it speaks of trust, faith and love. The scripture’s stance is never to put God’s people to shame and its messages are always centered on salvation, deliverance and holiness. The mystery of god’s love cannot be fully known but we know the vile deeds of our past and of our former unfaithfulness. For as God is faithful , so must we be and as He is holy, the nature within us must become holier still. The God of prayer is always wiling to listen and to answer everyone’s prayer and as its nature is pure so the prayers must be. The scripture sates in Isaiah “ Before they call I will answer, while they are still speaking I will hear.” ( Isaiah 65:24 ) This message was written in the power of the Holy Spirit and as the promise is, the eyes of God’s people must be fixed in the truth. Thus in view of this our faith must be with God, our hearts must be with God and as God’s favor works great signs will be witnessed. The treasure in this is also to take us to the eternal.
