Signal fellowship prove victorious at DABAYM Cricket league

Dimapur, May 17 (EMN): A wrap up to an eventful month for the Dimapur Ao Baptist Arogo Youth Ministry (DABAYM) as the first ever Cricket tournament organised and initiated by DABAYM Tientet Lanur as part of the DABA Youth Sports Ministry concluded at the Dimapur Government College ground on May 17.

Signal defeated Merali by 22 runs in the final matvch. Signal team scored 115 runs losing 5 wickets and runners up team Merali scoring a 93 runs for 8 wickets till the last ball of the proposed 15 overs.
As any professional cricket league would have it, the organisers also impressively set up a pitch report which included bowling speed meter machines during the first and second innings well.

Winning the toss, Merali decided to bowl first even though commentators predicted due to the hard pitch, it would have been wise to bat. A special drone was functional all throughout the match and also a Decision Review System (DRS) as well provided by Off and On productions which acted as third umpire.

For individual awards, the orange cap for the highest scorer of runs in the tournament went to Imlikaba of Signal with 139 runs in five matches. The man of the series and the purple cap went to Mazu of Signal for taking the highest number of wickets in five matches. The best wicket keeper title went to Along of Signal with 13 catches in five matches.

Lemon phones sponsored the young promising player of the tournament which went to Talilemba of Merali with 104 runs over all. Tecno mobiles sponsored the best catch of the tournament that went to Tiawapang of Duncan.
Eight fellowships under DABAYM namely Signal, Merali, Duncan, Town, Lungmen, Sumedem, Yongkum and Yimsen took part in tournament that started on April 11.
