Shurhosul’s brace send Tribal Brothers to second round; Jakhama wins

Kohima, Sep. 25 (EMN): Shurhosul Zhotso scored twice for Tribal Brothers to beat A Yhome FC in their first match at the ongoing 19th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Football Trophy played at the Kohima local ground on Tuesday.
In the first half, both team failed to break the deadlock as Tribal team dominated the match; it was Shurhosul’s solo effort that found the net in the injury time to make it 1-0 at the end of the first half.
In the second half, Tribal Brothers with a one goal lead took the confidence to score another goal through Laiwang in the 70th minute and Shurhosul added his second from a penalty in the 75th minute to finish the match.
Vilhoubeituo Yhome headed home the consolation goal through an assist from Alem in the 84th minute but that was all as Tribal FC held on for a win and enter the second round of the tournament.
Tribal Brothers take on High School Taxi Drivers in the next round on Oct 2.
Avito Khieya shines for Jakhama team
Avito Khieya scored a hat-trick in the first half for Jakhama Youth Organisation to thrash Fortunate Youth FC 5-0 in the second match. He scored in the 17th, 21st and 40th minute. He became the second hat-trick scorer of the tournament after Gideon Leo.
In the second half, Swedevito Tase and Kikosato Tetso added a goal each to complete the rout. Youth FC failed to register a single shot on target during the match as they had to end their saga in the tournament.
Jakhama team will now face Centurion FC in the next round on Oct. 3.
