Several bodies condemn assault on minor girl

Dimapur, April 15 (EMN): More civil society organisations have condemned the alleged assault on a minor girl, who was working in Kohima as a domestic helper, by her employer and his wife.

The Konyak Student’s Union Dimapur (KSUD), Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong Dimapur Unit (KNSKD) and Konyak Union Dimapur (KUD) strongly condemn the assault on a 13-year-old girl, who was working as a domestic helper, by Rulanthung Ezung, a government servant under fishery department and his wife Mhalo Ezung, read a joint statement from the three bodies of the Konyak community in Dimapur.

The KSUD stated that “this kind of inhuman act cannot be tolerated anymore in a civilised society” and urged the law enforcing authority to punish the culprits as per the law. It also appealed to all the citizens not to involve in such kind of act.

In separate press releases, the Aboi Area Students’ Union and Moka Union Dimapur have condemned the act and requested the government authorities to initiate appropriate action against the culprits and deliver justice to the victim.
